Screen

There are many layers of meaning within the Japanese language.
The kanji characters on the screen are Hei-wa and Cho-wa. These translate as Peace and Harmony, although beneath each of the characters lie other hidden meanings.
The applique work of the screen echoes this depth, as the layers of the design can be revealed or concealed with changes in the lighting
Kumihimo (translated as - coming together of threads) provides the strength and framework for the whole.

One of a series of vessels for the important, non-tangible things in life. Also, a hope to dissolve the self-imposed boundaries between techniques and disiplines.
