These Silk and Biron threads are used in Japan for making Traditional Kumihimo Obi-jime (the braided belt around the Kimono). A rope is a standard unit of thread to be used on one bobbin. Instructions on using ropes for braiding can be found in the -Beginners guide to Braiding- book.

They are equally ideal for all other Braiding uses and textile techniques such as Embroidery, Lace,Tassel making etc.

All ropes are packaged in a re-sealable plastic bag.
The 1-Rope packs contain a paper loop which maintains the strands in an orderly group.
This also enables single strands to be pulled from the group.
